Howzit guys

I bought a pair of Skullcandy Earbuds in 2009 from Life Sounds. I don't have the receipt cos I only learned of the lifetime warranty when i came across a youtube video while looking at a review of the Hesh 2, where the guy had his headphones replaced by Skullcandy because of the lifetime warranty.

My earbuds only works on one side and I never bother because I was not aware of the lifetime warranty, and I only now I need a new headset. My question is, how do I a warranty claim in South Africa, especially without the receipt. I'm hoping I don't need the receipt as with a lifetime warranty, it shouldn't matter when I bought it. Right?

Thanks

If it's a cable break (which it sounds like it is) I doubt that they would cover it.

I would suggest you read their T&C, should answer your questions, particularly the Read Full Policy section.

Anybody know of where/how you can repair such a cable break? I have the same issue on my Skullcrushers

It would not be worth repairing. Website says they give you 50% back towards the purchase of a new Skullcandy through the website if it the old ones are physically damaged.

Head off to your local china mall and find the cheapest headphones you can with a similar cable, and then let the hacker in you loose, dissect them carefully, and transfer the (hopefully) good cable from the new ones. VoilĂ .

Done this a number of times on my Sennies.

Earphones really need to be designed with user replaceable cables. 90% of failures are busted cables :(

Remember lifetime means if the product has been replaced your warranty is gone. Many people think lifetime means forever which is not the case.

I had a pair of skullcandy Inkd's, they also had a cable brake. Their return policy stated you have to send the broken pair back to them so I mailed them and send them the earphones. They gave me a voucher to use in there online shop for a pair of new Inkd's. But the problem is they only ship to the USA and Canada so I have a voucher i cant use.....meh

or without cables... hate the bloody things - I always loose mine when I drive over them with my office chair.

Um.... the decent ones generally do ;)

The ones I am having a problem with are the smokin buds which are in ear head phones. I'm keen on getting the Hesh 2 which has a detachable cable with mic.

Is it....

Is it a Skullcandy Crusher or Skullcandy Skullcrusher ?

I have spare cable for the Skullcandy Crusher

Actually the main reason why I bought the Hesh 2 was because of the detachable cable. They can be replaced. Previous headphones the cable got borked and now they useless...

I bought my skull candy headphones from game, then only the one sidewas working, then after a few days nothing. According to game it was physical damage. I contacted skull candy they refer me to Luksbrands. I only needed the receipt. I could trace the exact date on my banking statements. I then went back to game requested a reprint of the receipt. After 2 weeks my headphones was replaced by Luksbrand.

I had an issue and these guys are the official Skullcandy distributors - they helped me out
