I speak to my folks in SA using Skype. How do I stop myself being heard when I speak to them, they cannot hear themselves speaking. Its my end, what can I do? Thanks in advance.

In windows volume control, mute the mic. In skype your mic will still be working, only diff is that you won't be hearing yourself speak.

Move the mic further away from the speakers. On your parents side the only thing i can think of is it being feedback

Or use a headset, a skype phone handset, or if you can find one a uConnect with any normal phone.

We are both using headsets, they don't have any problem there side and cannot hear themselves repeating themselves. It must be my side.

I had the same problem with a call to Australia the otherday. I'm using a logitech headset (usb 350.)
Not sure how to solve. I thought it was just a normal glitch.

Anyhow... sorry to change the topic.
I'm looking at getting ADSL for my folks in SA so they can Skype me. Who you your folks use as an ISP and what speed etc do they use?
Thanks in advance.

Apologies for coming back to you so late. My folks use Telkom ADSL 384 and Cybersmart.
