Skype local call rates

What are the local call rates for skype supposed to be? I loaded 10eu, 100 bucks, and it's supposed to only use 20 cents a minute according to skype. I called for 55 seconds and now I have 9.86 EU left, wtf? I thought Skype was supposed to be cheap. Am I doing something wrong here? So basically it's using 1.3 Rands per minute and not 20 cents?

The link you show is 50 bloody cents... here I am thinking using skype will save. They still charged me over 1 rand though.

It's always been around R0.60 pm for land lines, don't know where you saw different.

That is the rate to call the cheapest countries, eg the USA, etc.

Connection charge for every call? Hmm this just gets better and better. So it's essentially cheaper just to buy telkom prepaid airtime?

or get neotel pre-paid ( NeoConnect Lite), all calls are per second and much cheaper that Telkom.

Skype makes all their money from skype-out and they are doing very well. I suggest using them (possibly) for international rather than local calls.

I don't use Skype for local calls, mainly Skype to Skype. Most people I know have Skype on their Cellphones.
