Skype on MTN

Is it now permissible to use skype on MTN or VODA network?Do the networks still maintain the threat of hefty charges if anybody uses voip on their network?

If you look at their Terms and Conditions, theoretically it is still not permitted. But given the huge number of people Skyping with their mobile connections, it obviously still suits them to turn a blind eye -- perhaps on what seems to be a valid assumption: that people calling overseas using Skype would not necessarily make the same calls across the standard mobile networks if Skype was not available. We Skype because it's cheap.

I have not had any billing issues yet with skype on VC. Hope the same is on MTN.

I have used it for some years with MTN and no probs. I now use GoogleTalk as it is cheaper.
