Who uses it? I used it for the first time in absolute ages and spoke to a friend in London who I have not spoken to since I left a place called Milton Keynes in December 2002. MK is about an hour North of London. When i spoke to him it was not too bad. It broke up a bit but sound was ok. Do you guys use skype often if at all and how much bandwith or whatever it is does it use up if you have ADSL?

Use it to chat with my friend in England and with my family in Canada. Bandwidth usage is so little that I don't really notice and I count every MB every day.

I use it at least twice a week.

OK thats cool because when I get ADSL at the end of this month I wanna use it everyday to chat to friends and stuff

It works well on Dial up ie 32kbps up and 56kbps down.
Sure it scales if you have a faster connection but the voice is better than
phone quality even on dial-up. In some locations however Skype is
filtered out, as are the other mainstream messanger services,
so I use Speak Free which offers great quality and encryption if ya want.

I use mine regularly and while a normal shaped adsl account works fine I often use it for work so opted for a 1gb unshaped payg account which generally lasts me a couple of months with regular use and saves me a fortune. :)

I try to avoid video when possible as it chows bandwidth (and its nowhere near as good as iChats).

My folks phone me here in London from PE when ever they want, the quality is good and have never had any problems.
