Skyworth TV settings (Audio)

For those who have a Skyworth and surround sound system.

I just got myself a skyworth tv which will be here on Monday but I was just wondering if there are certain settings I need to change in order for it to play 5.1 surround sound or should play fine as is.

I'm thinking of using the media player that comes with the TV other wise I'll have to download something else.

In my experience, it should just work, I've had it work on both my very old Samsung surround sound and my newer Sony soundbar.
However, it also depends on the media you are playing, don't expect 5.1 surround sound if the media only has stereo, unless you have something like virtual surround sound enabled.
I would recommend using an optical cable though along with the HDMI cable (HDMI cable for control of the surround sound system from the TV).
