Slack desktop and web apps get big performance improvements

It's still slow and bloated though. The apps are still little more than a wrapped web browser.

And the usual PSA: don't use Slack, use Twist.

- half the price
- unlimited storage
- better quality apps
- more organised 3 pane layout vs 2 pane one

Twist has a crappy free tier. Only last 30 days messages can be viewed.
The new slack I find fast. It's the main reason I don't use MS Teams which is slow and bloated.

So take out a Twist trial and try it properly?

My company moved off Slack and uses Teams. Harder to set up, but much better integration with Office 365. Doc sharing, OneDrive/SharePoint, makes the trouble worthwhile.

I have just started training it = and people are really excited. If setup well - it really makes document sharing and collaboration much easier. Do you use Delve too? It shows you your contacts and any documents they shared with you. You no longer need to search through emails to find those documents. And you can mark documents as favourites too. Makes accessing them easier. The tools with 365 really make life easier.

It's worth the effort. We don't use Delve, yet - been on Teams for about 6 months. A major upgrade is imminent, apparently. The audio/video is good and we use it for internal calls and videoconferencing. Have set up a little Intel NUC in the boardroom, with camera and decent mike. Extensive and excellent courseware available, but the back-end techies need to know what they're doing.

Yes - just like for SharePoint. Works brilliantly if set up correctly. I see on twitter there are quite a few resources about migrating to Teams. Glad your company is doing it right.
