sleep mode and power outage

When Eskom turns off the power while my windows 10 pc is in sleep mode and I power it on again the dvd light and hard drive flash briefly, but that's it, no bios display to the screen, no boot up beep. I have identified this problem before , its a memory chip that died.
This is the second time this has happened and each time the pc was in sleep mode. Anyone else have this experience? I suspect the sleep mode has something to do with it.

Lol no if you leave it on it might get fried as well. Best to hibernate it or get an inverter.
