So last night I got home and I notice the link light on my DSL modem is off. I picked up the fone and dialed the help desk. After waiting like 15 minutes for someone to answer my call, that silly elevator music stoped and I was all excited because someone was answering my call. But funnily enough I was greeted with a funny silence. Saying "Hello??" a few times a heard a strangely familiar sound ... After a few seconds I recognised this sound as the breathing of a sleeping person. After all doubt subsided that this was what I heard I decided to try again, but this time on my cellphone, and I did record it. If somone could provide me with local hosting, I'll put the sound file up for dloading, it is truly one of those genuine Telkom priceless moments.

LOL - you can get capped on the FIRST DAY of the month if you're not careful.

Ask me how I know

I suppose I just don't use alot because it takes so long to load - i think you are right - i would reach the cap very fast if I had adsl

I also experienced the no link problem. I guess we are on the same exchange. I dont really mind tho cos the net result is they moved me from 640/384 to 2048/512 which means no 384 cap on upload no more yay!

So I talked to the call centre manager today and lodged a complaint. Says he'll look into the calls and get the recordings ...

When I enquired about what equipment the operators use, he said they have the headsets and calls are AUTOMATICALLY put through to an operator, so I guess it's very possible that this oke fell asleep and I was put thru to him. Pitty screaming didn't wake him
