Knee pain can be a variety of things; including things like shoes, form, or simply too much too fast.
People often focus on the shoes, but ignore the fact that running form is as often the culprit. This isn't helped by nice fitted shoes masking the symptoms that stem from technique issues. Watch some videos and do research on running form, or get a coach to help you improve your form, and potentially video & review your own running to optimize further.
Whatever you do, don't run until you get it sorted. I'm currently in my 4th month of zero activity, due to my ignoring a niggle that turned into something persistent.
