Hello

Does anyone here have any experiences to share about the tevo slinky hosepipe or a similar type of coiled hose pipe.

Is the quality, hose management and storage really as good and they make believe?
At R550 for the 23m version, are there any alternatives?

Thanks

I'm using two coiled pipe, not sure what brand.

I've had it installed for 1 year or so now and no problems other than having to replace the one hose head on the one pipe, which was leaky to start off with.

I use one of the Tevo units...

Fine for washing the car, house windows and watering the gardens, etc.

Not suitable for filling or topping up the swimming pool!! :p

Bought the Tevo one a few years back.

First impression was that it was more aesthetically pleasing to store but:
The coil is annoying if you walk beyond 5 meters from the tap;
If the coils get tangled, it's a hassle to untangle (just like a real slinky!);
True to your typical TV commercial quality products, it didn't last much beyond it's guarantee date. IIRC, the hose tore in several places about 13-14 months after it was purchased.

Agree, but mine has lasted pretty long! 4-5 years now... stored in the shade.

Actually just remembered:
The first one I bought, didn't last more than a week.
I had used the standard nozzle that came with it, turned on the pipe and proceeded to (wash the car, water the garden, wet something...). I didn't turn the tap off every time I intermittently stopped and the pressure must have built up too much and too long, because the hose tore.
Suffice to say, took it back to the retailer and had it replaced.

Been using a standard hose pipe for about 3-4 years without any issues. It's a hassle storing it neatly, but it works.

Slinky is so damn annoying when its tangled.I would just get a standard hose with a reel.

My recommendation?

Get a standard hose pipe and a reel, with decent fittings. Will be cheaper and will last longer...
