How many devices connected to the network? Are your PC's doing updates? Are you downloading stuff while doing the speedtest?
 
I'm also in Westdene and DSL in our area is really getting bad. Half the problem is that we connect all the way to the Newlands exchange, which is by my attenuation stats looks to be about 3.8km away. My line sync is down to around 3300. Granted, 0.4 mbps is quite slow.
 
Well if you sent less characters in your heading less bandwidth would be used. :twisted: We are all having problems with Telkom. My line is on the fritz again after 3 years of seamless surfing.

Are you sure about that? What is the exchange prefix for your area? (011 xxx) with that info you can check the SAIX notice board for faults, panned outages etc.

I spoke to the Telkom techie that tried to help me get the problem resolved. Large parts of Westdene connect to the Newlands exchange. My number is 011673, and there are 011477 numbers in our street as well.

Current refs for 011477 are NN0058709 and NN0058710
Current refs for 011673 are NN0058713, NN0058709 and NN0058710

All seem to be link migrations to new MSANs

All are scheduled for next week. It could be prep work going on which should not interrupt existing service, but you never know these days!.
 
I just checked the SAIX notice board. Seems my number is part of NN0058710.
It would make my month if my local loop is just a little bit shorter :)
