Slow ADSL line sync speed 2559kbps

Is anyone else experiencing weird line sync speeds? My 4Mbps line has been syncing at 2559kbps DL and 508kbps UL since this morning.

I have reset the port twice to no avail.

Any ideas? Is it due to the Telkom "upgrades"?

Contacted WebAfrica, they nagged Telkom, they sent a technician,l got a new wall connector and I was told that apparently my POTS filter was causing the problem... Makes no sense but my line is back to normal it seems

Was tol my POTS filters was faulty as well. Still haven't gotten around to replacing it. Actually hoping for Fibre soon instead. Way less effort to keep it going.

I had the same apparently Hellkom were doing maintenance and then amazingly after a phonecall my line went up to 4.6meg.... Happy

Since yesterday, my line has been syncing at 5117kbps from 4096kbps, which is double the 2559kbps that it was doing before they sorted out my problem.

Could it be the same problem except that they upgraded me a 8Mbps line?

Since yesterday, my line has been syncing at 5117kbps from 4096kbps, which is double the 2559kbps that it was doing before they sorted out my problem.

Could it be the same problem except that they upgraded me a 8Mbps line?

This is ASSIA, telkom did over 30 Exchange upgrades last week. Just ask telkomZA on here to reset your optimization profile and it should go up to 5112kbps if you run a 4mb line...but if you gaming, note that you will see at least 20-30ms increase in ping...that's not your ISP, its ASSIA...and goodluck changing back to Fast path its not easy.

Just change it to G.DMT and your latency should improve. At least it does for me.

I tried it as well, after a week or so ASSIA increased my line speed, and it all went to S@#t...
