slow apple mac on UBNT wifi

What band? I find my macbook is faster than anything else on my UNIFI
 
Weird, it was an Apple employee that stated Ubiquiti, would think he would always optimize it for Apple devices

Hold option and click the wifi icon in the toolbar up top.
It will tell you how the Mac is connecting to wifi.

FTP speed to my iMac in the same room as a UniFi - I can test from my sons PC but doubt it will be much better than 750 mbit

All the Macbooks I've owned have had pretty bad wifi.

I have to force my Macbook on to its own 5Ghz SSID also on my Unifi AP otherwise it always connects to 2.4Ghz unless I have it like right next to the AP.

My cheap Windows laptop works a charm and wifi is faster and more reliable on it.
 
So using 5 Ghz and the macs are still unstable on UNIFI APs managed by a controller. Updated to the latest UNIFI firmware.
And there I though apple devices always just works.
Windows PC as all good and no problem and same wifi.
 
Yeah its not blistering but is faster than my 100mb fibre so that is enough for me. The 2.4GHZ on the MBP is absolutely appalling.
