Why would someone host a massive CDN with a gazzilion interesting multi-gig files...but with a 500B/s download rate (tiny pipe/ too many connections)? Whats the point?

7gigs at 500B/S takes 120 days. *blinks* And the 500bs isn't just today...this is the norm for that CDN.

Whoever is behind the effort is technically capable of a proper CDN as CDN05 is fast. So wtf where's the logic?

I'm going to be optimistic.

Havoc you have a talent for posting links to sick crap. Damn... do this somewhere else than the software development forum PLEASE!!

Where do you propose I post a question about a content delivery system, if not in the Software & Web Development subsection. In the motorcar section perhaps?

Allow me to apologize to you, RPM & everyone else. My adblocker caught the banners so I thought its just a directory listing, which I figured would be fine as I added NSFW tags. Hell, it even has fake FTP tags "(Apache/2.2.9 (Debian) DAV/2 SVN/1.5.1") at the bottom.

Apologies for distress caused...it was not the intention. If I had a CDN exhibiting similar characteristics minus the content I would have posted that.

I see RPM deleted the link...which is fine by me. If you wish to point out other "links to sick crap" I posted I'll gladly remove that too. ;)

So...anybody want to venture a guess as to the actual question of this thread?

Well, remember posting a link to a forum about some promotion idea or something (then someone was angry because you had to register to see it because of changed permissions), that was also crap (site had a lot of offending content).

I understand your point however and I agree with you that a connection of 500 b/s is just stupid.

No hard feelings, I'm just really offended by such content. :)

hmmm. Yeah I remember that.

I don't recall any promotional thing being involved, just lots of achievement unlocked logos w/ admin theme:

Again, the adblocker might have caught something & I didn't see it as a consequence. And I'm sure as hell not registering on that site to check now. ;)

The registration required thing is really not my vault....that was changed after I posted.

I'm starting to think this is one major ad operation. Keep costs low w/ thin pipe & maximize visitor by posting often searched for content. I download 4x mp3: All where bit for bit identical and the actual mp3 content didn't match the file names. So scam I guess.

No hard feelings, I'm just really offended by such content. :)
