i do have a relative fast pc,but for the past 3 dayz windows takes 5 mins to boot to the desktop.i dont understand why,I tried msconfig and checked there,i even disabled services i dont need, but still it takes 5 mins which is frustrating.
it never did this before,i checked for viruses worms troys, still nothing,I checked the system32 folder for strange .dll files ,still nothing,Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated as google was not in love with me this week.

one clue i can say is that sometimes my driver for my keyboard dont load on startup,Then what i do is uninstall the driver and rescan hardware changes,This fixes that problem, but i dont think this is the cause of the matter at hand.

my brain is tired and i cant:confused: think now what could cause windows to take so long to start.

If you sometimes connect to a LAN, try disabling any drive mappings to disconnected drives i.e. if you have mapped Z: to \\server\myfolder, delete the mapping.

ok i did use lan a week ago but why start this problem now,I think i dont have a folder/server mapping anymore.let me double check on that one, thanks i wil bet back to this post as soon as possible
