Slow Connection!

I'm using an ADSL line from Telkom, ISP: Mweb, I've got the inclusive package, uncapped but shaped, speed: 512kbps. I'm only getting maximum speed of 55kbps, this is since I first connected on Friday, the connection is quite stable but tooooooo slow

Is it supposed to be like this slow?

55kbps is right if you want faster Dsl, get 4mb..

512kbps = 64kB/s because there is 8 bits in 1 byte, with kbps = kilobits per second and kBps or kB/s = kilobytes per second

Due to overhead (roughly 10-13%), you can expect to get a maximum of 56kB/s on a 512kbps connection.

This is a sad discovery indeed I´ll definitely upgrade to a 4mb line soon.
