Slow defrag on mirrored raid volume on windows server 2008

Have you tried an alternative defrag program? Like www.auslogics.com?

Do you have an anti-virus application that is perhaps slowing it down ? (Checking every fragment moved)

Guessing you have software RAID which may be part of the problem, uses the processor to do RAID instead of a dedicated hardware card. If you paid less than R4000 for the RAID its probably not a full hardware RAID setup.

How much free space on the drive/volume?

50% free space... on 1TB Raid...
