Okay, first of I am Afrihost 4mb Uncapped Business, so throttling is not a issue for me. I made a similar thread but this one is slightly different after a observation.

My internet as of now is slow, BUT only with oversea websites and servers??

South African sites and servers benefit from my full 400+kbs download speed and loading speed. Currently downloading on Origin at max speed?? Youtube loads fast and videos load fast at 720p??

Now I pause all my downloads on my PC to test out on other Apps

Steam on the other hand, is as slow as 50kbs/s?? Blizzard app does not even connect to any game when I launch it because of how slow my internet is on the European servers?? Blizzard Forums load very slow and sometimes does not even connect to load the page?? Uplay also has very slow update speeds??

My line speed tests fine, but why am I experiencing this issue?? I never had this issue before. Please can someone help me??

Because of this I can not host games on European Servers or play any non South African game for that matter, and I want to play Overwatch now, but game does not connect to the servers because of my internet between 6pm -10pm.

During any other period of the day Steam, Blizz and Uplay works to my full line potential?? I can host and join European Servers any other time during the day and I can play Overwatch any other time of the day, just not between those hours because then my line is all screwed up.

Second thread to list this problem, I am having this exact problem. Hopefully more people reply to show that these are not just isolated incidents. And that business uncapped is being throttled.

This isn't isolated, twitter is full of the exact same complaints- same time every day. Afrihost is most probably suffering with a congested network again. This has been a long time comming, their need to up the shaping policies to include all their uncapped products and to differentiate the capped products between shaping and nonshaping, should indicate that they are trying to squeeze as much as possible out of their- already strained- network. Just get a test account at a diffrent isp and see if it also experiences the same problems.

Numerous people with this issue

As a start afrihost should acknowledge the issue instead of treating their customers as if they on some sort of hallucinogen

I'm having the exact same issue & I'm with Mweb. From 8-10pm the internet is practically unusable & downloads will run at like 25kb/s

everyone gets home after work at around 6pm +- (if they work 7-4pm or 8-5pm). 1hour traffic... etc..

so 6pm they start streaming Netflix or Hulu or maybe even DSTV now stuff. Or simple downloads

Could be the exchange being flooded in your area or specific ISP (maybe most the ppl in your area on same ISP and somewhere there's a bottleneck or just insifficient "pipe")

The problem is this was NEVER a issue, for 2+ years, and it just all of sudden arise out of nowhere .... poof, just like that. I was busy gaming, got a lag spike, and my line was never the same after.

Could be that they upgraded alot of people in your area (to 10mbit or 20mbit). Now they all downloading like crazy..

Either that or maybe your exchange is flooded (not enaugh capacity to give to everyone)

Our small little town can not go over a 4MB line. Our town does not support faster than that. Rest of the town from my understanding is with Breedenet WI FI

Wonder if more people in the "small little town" hasn't now realised Internet Video streaming (youtube, Netflix etc) or just crazy heavy downloading. Now they chowing all your bandwidth. <--- Very sad.

My exchange also gets slow over weekends, different times. Depends on howmany ppl is hogging data like crazy all at the same time.
