Slow Downloads

On 384 home dsl.
ISP: Mweb
Router: Netgear DG834G

Used to download at 52kbps and upload bout 40kbps.
Now can only get 37kbps down and bout 20kbps up.

Happened recently, not at same time as the change to interleaved mode.

Any1 else getting this prob?

Well, when did you have your line installed? There's a thread elsewhere (can't be arsed to look for it) that mentions something about having faster speeds right after installation, and then slowing down when telkom gets around to restricting you according to your package...

Correct me if I'm mistaken.

They impliment ur line speed randomly, my 384k also went at 512k speeds for a while then back to the actual supposed to be speed.

do u mean that its random? or that it'll neva go faster again? bcause most ppl on 384 go way faster than this

Well, I hardly think it's something to complain about. Those sound like pretty normal DSL 384 speeds.

I've never done 52 kb/s, my average is 38 Kb/s ... but hey look on the bight side @ least you don't get to the cap faster ...

I would say that if you're getting about 40KB/s you're at the speeds you should be. There's no use crying that it's slower than it used to be, because how it used to be is not how it should be, you want something faster, upgrade to 512K.
