Slow International Access

Yep, same here. So slow to the point that international sites don't actually load. So much for 1mbit speeds...

:mad::mad::mad:

Do these mfs know that this is what's happening?This is such k a k

It seems to have stabilised for me now. I was having the same problems last night...

Yeah, a fractionally better this morning, but still too slow to actually use.
(by better I mean that sites are now actually loading... eventually)

:mad::mad:

Yeah, things seem slightly better when I checked this morning, but not back to normal (if you can ever call Sentech's connection normal ;)). What gets me is that they almost never report such incidents on their website in the so called "Up to date announcements" section :mad:.

Something else I've been noticing since I moved from classic to flexi is the way download rates jump up and down. I've been monitoring download speeds via NetMeter and it almost always follows a trend of initial fast rates (>80 kBps), then dropping slightly after a few seconds and then sharply dropping to < 10 kBps and even 0 for a few seconds. It then jumps back to the "high" speeds and the cycle continues. Anyone else noticing this pattern? My contract expires next month and I'm wondering what (who) to change to :confused:. I would appreciate ex-MyWireless ppl msging me to tell me what they've moved to and how it compares to MyWireless...

The one day I get to work from home and THIS happens!

I want to kill lots of people round about now.

I get exactly the same thing. Makes gaming and streaming audio useless...International is basically dead for me again...

Exactly my problem as well. I thought that was the whole idea behind broadband... My theory is that because they don't have enough bandwidth, they try to give everyone a turn (so to speak) at experiencing high transfer rates (albeit for a very short time).

Even listening to the short samples on iTunes is problematic. Don't even try YouTube :p. But... it's probably me again... trying to use my Internet connection "irresponsibly" (one of Telkom's infamous statements when people try to use their Broadband connection for the kind of things that people actually get Broadband for). So, my question still remains: "Where to next?".

PS: I use the term Broadband very loosely ;).

As I said yesterday...its absolute K A K .Just now in Durbanville , the base station was down.Hardly a day goes by without issues with Sentech broadband.
Thank goodness my contract will soon(end of July) be a month to month one...at least I can pull the plug on these phucks anytime I wish to!

I haven't had a chance to check today due to being at work, but even last night it was still dead.

I will however give credit where credit is due: when Sentech works I find the experience quite pleasing. I get close to 1mbit speeds ALL the time. Audio streaming and YouTube (for example since they were mentioned above in previous posts) work 100%. No waiting or pauses.

Maybe I'm just on a good base-station? (Fourways)

if u ask me it is the ppl taht have power over the connections that are downlaoding EVERYTHING they can get there hands on when there bosses is not looking for as long as they can - and we pleps have to give our bandwith to them too play with
FIRE ALL OF em and our problems are over
