Slow international speeds

Anyone know what's wrong with international connections? I'm getting unbelievably slow speeds: upload is faster than my download!

Could we get users on other ISP's to advise on their status (non Seacom) Just want to see if this is isolated to WA.

Got an alert from Mweb this mornng:

Good morning everyone,

Our SAT-3 link went down early this morning due to an undersea cable failure near the UK.
This will unfortunately impact on our international capacity today as both our CPT and JHB customers will be routed via SEACOM.

This means that you will experience some degradation of international speeds and Peer to Peer traffic will be shaped back accordingly.

We will update you as soon as we have an indication of when SAT-3 service will be restored.

Looks like the SAT 3 cables couldn't handle the strain Seacom does. Just wish it will get fixed ....

So both Sat-3 and Seacom are experiencing problems? There's going to be a lot of very unhappy Battlefield 3 players on console tonight

We are in the process of acquiring additional capacity with our upstream providers in order to alleviate the latency caused by the cable break. This will be taking place this evening and on Tuesday morning.

I have speeds slower than dial-up today. Local websites are more or less ok. But I cant even open Gmail. International sites take forever to load & most dont even load properly. I'm on cybersmart btw
