Slow Internet

I have a 4Mbps connection International via SAIX and Local via IS.

The past two days my connection has been having some serious speed issues.

Im downloading at 10kb per second now from kfm.co.za for example.. 30kb chached from IS News.

MyADSL and Facebook both take ages to open. Sometimes just times out. Cant be a problem on both the IS and SAIX networks?
 
I'm on SAIX and it's been crawling since about midday yesterday till now ;)
 
I'm on Telkom(saix) and its also been slow. I'm not sure if its just my internet or the website, can anyone just see how long it takes to get on the site: forum.youriding.com.

It has to be a peering problem of some sort, I just downloaded Vista Sp1 at about 438 kbps from Microsoft, but the forum and other sites are slow ;)
 
saix unshaped account with webafrica and getting pings in excess of 2000ms
 
Been having some serious slowdowns here in Wynberg Cape Town the last few days. Downloads and so on are ok, but certain sites just crawl. Suprised the staff in the school haven't complained more.
 
same here in Durban since around 2 hours go...wtf... 4mb with saix and its *** slow... some sites refuse to open.. Dial up will put this to shame

Same story here. Pages are taking ages to open today!
 
It seems that most local sites are dead slow while every single int site i visit is normal.
Tested on SAIX and IS

Looks like a countrywide problem

I am having problems with all sites!

SAIX Jeppestown 4Mb...

all sites taking ages to load. :(

same problem here!!!!!!!this is a joke, i cant even download mail.

Sites are taking ages.:mad:
 
Very slow here (DBN) .... what I can't understand is that d/loads are unaffected??? WTF is up with that.
