I've been experiencing several line drops as well as very low access/download speeds the past two days. Usually my torrent (international) total is around 100 Kb/s, but now it's been 40 at most. Has anyone else experienced the same?

ISP: Cybersmart
Line: 384Kbs
Area: Durbanville (Kenridge) in Cape Town

Something strange is happening with slow international speeds for the past few days. During the day I am getting very slow international with some websites I can't access. But during the evening everything seems to be fine.

You only have a 384k line. How were you getting d/l's of 100kbs? 40kbs is normal for a 384k line.

Yup... Me too, Cybersmart as well...

*sigh*

It looks as if the shuffling begins again. I wonder how long it is going to be like this THIS time.

384/8=48
100/8=12

So, he is quite capable of hitting 100kbits per second, this would equate to 12kiloBytes per second... roughly, give or take a .024... on a 384kilobits per seconds line.

However, if he got the 384kiloBytes-per-second line as advertised in Cybersmart's radio ads... well, then that is another story. ;)

But, I have noticed my line crapping-out as well, since Thursday... this page took 3 reloads and 4 minutes to load!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've always have the 100 speed. 40 is very, very slow and unusual for me. On an average night, thanks to Cybersmart's Night Rider, I can download over 2GB from 1am to 8am.

The other day I noticed my net wasn't working and gave Cybersmart a call. They said that it was unauthorized on Telkom's side and they reactivated it for me. Very strange since I've used the same line, location and account for the past few months.

My net is still crapping out.
