Hi There

I am situated in Paarl. About 2 weeks ago I had installed a wireless link from my busines to my home.

I use a 2 x SENAO 11Mbps Wireless Bridge / Access Point (Ext Antenna). Which work fine with carry over my internet connectivity but file sharing was just slow. For Eg. If I want to copy a file of 1Gb it will take just under an hour to do that.

So I decided to use 2 x SENAO 54Mbps Bridge/AP/Repeater (External Antenna). I just change it to that AP's. But I am getting now even slower speads. The same file is taking now about 5-4 hours to copy.

Just a note on the antenas on both sides I am using 22dBi Grid Antennas and I do have line of sight and the distance is 4km

Any Help out There

Thx

hmm... i woulda gone with wtg54g's.. you can boost them to 100mw for transmission.

dunno what the senao stuff does.. best u just make sure your aligned right.. and maybe try set the stuff to a fixed speed.. like 18megs ... could be trying to auto adjust all the time and that might slow it down

Check your SNR.

Make sure your polarisation matches on both ends

Try locking your AP's to a lower rate, like 24mbit. work your way up until it breaks :)

how long is the link?
do you have perfect LOS? including some clearance for the franznel zone

I dont think Senaos have timing issue like the WRT54G's have (with standard firmware)

bboy the Senao do 100mw sometimes 200

i'm gonna burn my fingers with this one but here goes, there is no way wrt can outperform a senao 2611cb3 over distance, i did my fair share in tests over the last 3years. have u tried changing the channels?

Hi Guys.

Thanks for the responses. I have perfect line of sight. And the distance is 4Km. I
did play around with the speeds but still nothing. I have stable link but I thought if I go to a 54mb AP it will make a big difference compare to the 11mb one. I really can't see that.
