I'm busy waiting for mywireless to come to our area. I will be dropping ADSL.. Lately I've been reading a lot about slow speed and the likes. Have they eventually sorted it out or is it the kind of thing that will plague mywireless users? Been trolling over this forum for a couple of weeks and it looks like the peoples are still complaining or is everything back to normal again?

I will be the first to respond..

Read the forum, do a search for "slowdown" etc. Theres plenty info.

Im still experiencing crappy speeds but thats only from wednesday onwards. It may be my fault (firmware) or otherwise but it seems the problem is with our stupid tower (36).

My guess is that the speed problems will slowly become less frequent but will still occur at least until the end of the year but its very hard to tell.

I do think you should consider going for it though (my opinion) since about 70% of the time it works really well. A lot of users in here will agree. Some wont unfortunately but it does seem to be a bit of a 'how lucky you are' scenario. I think if someone says they havent experienced slow speeds then they either are lying, dont have mywireless, actually work for sentech or never do any speed testing or any kind of downloading (or they were not home or out of the country [:D] )

At the moment its about 50 /50 if you get proper speeds or not.

But a number of guys have gotten a e-mail saying sentech are aware and attending to the problem

So just hold out for a while and see what happens

I am lukky I have had great speeds since day one

keep in mind that those people have got the autoresponder email only after complaining - so thats not really a valid statement.

I would say dont even hold out. For the times when it works, it is worth it. I was told this long before I got my modem and I have zero regrets.

Just do a signal test first and dont get a modem if you get under 10% with no antenna anywhere on your property. Thats risky.
