Slow Speeds

It’s not a tower issue: 22 = Gardens

But strange because it doesn't seem like a network issue. I mean CPT might be degraded, but not to the level of 50kb especially with such a good connection.

I'm sure our Plumstead tower is mor eloaded than Gardens, but I can get higher than 50kb easily.. adn I just realized im capped. So I guess I cant tell if the network is bad or not, because I can get my 64kb in any case.

Well best we all just get capped then, no network worries for us. Until it goes totally down or latency shoots up..

Oh yeah of course I do EHV. Let's say your latency increases when you're uncapped. You drop from 1mb/s to 700kb/s.

Won't speed stay the same if you have a 64K connection?

According to the network status page the Core Network - CPT is still degraded which I find hard to believe that they still have not managed to sort it out.

More likely they don't know what they are doing.

Nice you really did choose a good nickname

Are you trying to live up to it?

yes and been trying to get another IP for ages and now have one which seems a bit quicker, but in general speed is not up to what I'm used to.

I was on a "69" and now a "70"

This delay they added in changing IP is causing me major problems since in the past if I had a slow IP it was quick to switch to another.

It's about time they fixed this new problem that they introduced.

Well I never surfed this morning, but was very surprised when me and a friend could game online on my iBurst connection at 11 am on a Monday, and I'm capped. Never thought it would work..

Wasn't quite as nice as 5 am before we went to sleep.. but not bad.

EHV, Great!!! so now I have to wait till I'm capped before my speeds will go up.

I don't understand...

EHV you must have pretty crappy speeds in general if that is the case, what is you average access speed?

Not all that high. I guess around 40-60kb generally when I download stuff, im sure I could get it back to around 70-100kb that it used to go at if I put my antenna in the roof. Lazy.. and also not that sure :/

Why do you say this btw? I said i was surprised we could game.. Also alot of gaming is the latency, especially with two people and you know how weekday mornings/early afternoons go on iBurst.

Oh, and lol Mr.H, at least the capped speeds are still okay and pretty consistent for 64kb.

I was hard capped for 2 days and even though I phoned 4 times never got any help.
To save myself from a heart attack I decided not to post anything from my other connection even though I did monitor the forum from time to time.

Can't even blame Ed since he is between a rock and a hard place, if he sides with us he will lose his job, and since he knows nothing about the system he only comments on what those idiot technicians tell him.

As far as I'm concerned they have destroyed probably the best network in the country that used to be in CT.
If only Ed would listen to us and stick his neck out and tell the technicians what problems we are having maybe they could fix it, but I guess he is more worried about his job than us except if we all go he won't have a job anyway.

I ran a uttstar test and it was very similar to the old test which proves my connection is still good, but my speeds are all over the place and most my downloads end up in the bin due to corruption.

Seems to me iBurst is heading one way and thats out of business unless they start listening to the users instead of ignoring us.
