We had thread a while ago about a broadband strike/march, but I never saw anything come off it? I did not follow it daily though, becuase I did not think it would really accomplish anything. At most, I thought, only a 10th of the small amount of people that pledged to support it, would actually participate. On top of that, you would get a few media statements by ISP's, Telkom etc, if any, and under the carpet it would go. Anyway, like I said, i did not follow it.
This morning's ADSL pricing conundrum thread got me thinking. Instead of a few people standing roadside with pickets, trying to get a point accross, why do we not hit ISP's and telkom where it hurts, their income. At this point I can read your thoughts: "I am not cancelling my subscruiptions, cause 1. Too much effort and 2. I need it!" Hear me out...
Instead of cancelling our subscriptions, why not just decide on a certain month, and have our caps & speeds lowered for 30 days. Duration of the excecise would ofcourse have to at least for one month. If a few thousand people particpates for a month or two, surely it will have at least a small impact?
