My connection is very slow tonight it has been fine today until now. The modem indicates that I am connected on HSPA+ and I have a good signal but the connection feels like EDGE

REALLY slow download speeds, 1 KBps - 8 KBps, end of month issue?

Why am I getting these terribly slow speeds of 1 KBps - 8 KBps? Isn't that the speed that GPRS dowloads at? :wtf: omw.... yet I have HSPA+ signal.

It's not a single website I'm downloading from, and the one is not a slow one either. I have got around 400 KBps from it before. :erm:

Or is it just cause it's the end of the month, and everyone is trying to finish the remainder of their cap?

YES you not the only one, thou not that slow speeds. I think CellC should introduce data-roll overs cause this is really causing a major slow down now.Had great speeds during the day.
Facebook is really slow, gmail had to go onto the html mode, myBB is okay thou

Do a ip information test, sometimes you might be surprised

All websites are painfully slow for me... except cellc.co.za for some strange reason :wtf:

Lol I just tried to do another speedtest, and I got an error:

Latency Test Error
Latency test returned an error while trying to read the latency file.

lma0, epic fail. :p

Oh, and thats after a few timeouts trying to load speedtest.net as well.

Spoke to CellC after holding for some time, they reckon they have no problems, LOLlies :D

You have got to be joking... They reckon they have no problem yet no one in jhb-pta area can even use their internet. There is always a reason why something is cheaper.

I disagree. Vodacom is more expensive, and worse. This is only bad today, and maybe tomorrow.... but still better than vodafail for the rest of the month.

On second thoughts I kinda agree with SUPERMAN89.... If everyone uses their internet conservatively all month, then on the last few days finishes the remainder up (which could be a few GB's), we are definitely headed for disaster.

Nope it's _crawling_ and even cellc.co.za is crawling....

I was knifing sneaky camping weasels in Backlot and now I can do no more... ahhhh

Likewise, Claremont area. Started a download at about 18h00, went fast at first then suddenly slowed down dramatically and has gotten worse as the evening progressed.

I tend to agree with xera here.

Vodacom for me is not a possibility any day of the month, despite good signal it disconnects all the time and lets not mention the price.

That said though, this is rather p1ss poor if it is an end of the month issue and not some other technical issue, but according to CellC when I phoned earlier, they have no problems, HAHA :D

Yes, I also have problems tonight. Very slow speeds. Northriding area.

yup, same here. CellC E1820 60gb package. Bedfordview.
slow as a snail and back on iBurst :/

Wanne know something funny? My HSPA reception picked up to -59dBm from -69dBm. This could be a network problem as well, on Virgin 3G I did pick up "Neotel" as my ISP, so they do have a back-up network im guessing.

My ISP name was just 3G Subscriber now its gone to Cell C (pty) Ltd

It is not only 3G! My 10Mb ADSL (before was on full speed!) gives the same speed tonight

My speeds are back to normal, as in not slow

Speedtest is picking me up in CAPE TOWN!, they switched to that cable maybe
