I'm not sure where to ask this. I hope it's the correct place.

I have a 50mbps Fibre Connection (Upload & Download) and get full speed on all my mobile devices. On my Windows 10 Laptop though I only get max 30mbps (Upload & Download).

My laptop only pics up the 2.4GHz Network and not the 5GHz Network. Is that a setting somewhere or is the hardware just too old?

I'm using a Proline i5 Laptop.

The laptop probably only supports 802.11n in 2.4GHz, check what card it has in under device manager, also check the settings on the card in device manager, 30Mbps sounds very low, if the card is 802.11g then 30Mbps would be normal but not for a 802.11n card

See what settings you have, might be something you can change to up the speed...

I checked. It is 'n "n" card yes.

I changed the "Value" setting under 802.11n Channel Width from 20Hz to Auto, ran a test again, and got 43mbps download and 54mbps upload.

Thanks for the tip.
