Recommendations for a decent slush machine for private use?

Been looking at the single barrel commercial machines from catering shops, but they upwards of R13 000, any recommendation for something alternative and cheaper but just as good. For now I am not interested in blenders and these toy type machines.

A slush machine needs to run 24/7 or else things start to break and leak. They also create a lot of heat and make a lot of noise. Are you sure this is something you want in the house?

You won't find anything that works properly for much less than this.

Went down this road a while back.

Settled on the Zoku Slush Maker Cup (well, 2 of them).
They're single-serve and very much manual, requiring the cup to be left in the freezer for 8 hours between uses so that it gets cold enough before using it again - but the result is a perfect slush and so far I haven't found any drink that didn't work well with it.

Was only about R500 give or take a couple hundred, and none of the drawbacks of running/maintaining a full slush machine at home.

The only obvious downside is that it won't work for gatherings where you need a lot of slush at once.
