With the full knowledge of the Authorities, this website was started as a joint venture between the Johannesburg Commercial Branch anti-419 team and certain members of the world scambaiting community as an attempt to curb the level of internet fraud emanating from South Africa and to educate members of the public about the methods used.
In the initial stages, it enjoyed considerable success and many arrests were made. However, following various internal re-organisations within the South African Police Service, the level of input from the police side dropped to unacceptable levels. After making considerable efforts to restore the position, the moderator and admin. team have finally decided that in the absence of any guidance from the police, they have no option but to withdraw from all further involvement with the site.
