Hey Guys,

I have an AMD 3500+ with a PCI e 6800 in it. I wanna place this into a smaller case so it becomes portable. The board is about 28 x 28 (cm) and the cpu cooler sits about 22 cm high (quite a big cooler as stock cooler broke and this seemed like a good idea at the time). Any thoughts on what case i can fit this into? I will try boot this of a 2.5" HDD and a single DVD drive. Would prefer it if the case came with a small power supply. Any ideas on what i can look at? Also, dont wanna spend more than a couple of hundred bucks.

Iwould go for the Coolermaster Scout, it's an ATX case but is pretty small and has a carry handle on the top and it's sexeh as all hell.

You'll have to look second hand I think to get one for only a couple of hundred, you should probably be looking at mini towers, which I don't use.

Unless someone else can advise on a specific unit I would look at manufacturer web sites to find something that looks good. Cooling may be an issue in smaller boxes so make sure it has some decent fan holes.

Coolermaster make pretty decent cheap cases imo.

Cool, will take a look at coolermaster as soon as my internet starts working again.... Think IS international is down.

Couple hundred is going to get you a generic midi-tower. The smaller the case the more expensive it seems.

Yes it does. Supply and demand. :) If everyone was buying a tiny case then they would be cheaper. Also intended market plays a big part. Usually mini sized cases are intended for HTPC or other media centre kinda things and I reckon the general concensus there is that that market is usually filled with folks with big money to spend on big audio/media equipment, so why not rip them off as well. :D
