Small filesize would be pretty much anything under 1GB. Anyone want to recommend some? I'm sure some of us with slow/capped internet would benefit from this.

From my research on this I see it's mainly indies and pre-2005 games. So among the top would be:

Age of Mythology (of course it's at the top of my list!)
Age of Empires
Morrowind
Deus Ex
System Shock 2
Thief games
Civilization games
The Sims 1 (all expansions totals around 2GB)

Obviously this isn't a complete list.

This thread brings back old memories...

I remember years ago, games like Space Quest, Police Quest etc. were 3-5Mb in size. Only had 1.44Mb stiffy disks to copy them from a friend or whatever...used that archive program "ARJ" to copy them...you then used 4 stiffy disks to copy one game...got back home and restored the archive on your side...only to have disk 3 out of the 4 bomb out on you, then you had to go back to your friend to try again :D

Jeez, that's pretty incredible - going to check it out just to see how it was done.

.kkrieger requires a relatively high-end machine to run properly. To be
precise:

- A 1.5GHz Pentium3/Athlon or faster.
- 512MB of RAM (or more)
- A Geforce4Ti (or higher) or ATI Radeon8500 (or higher) graphics card
supporting pixel shaders 1.3, preferably with 128MB or more of VRAM.
- Some kind of sound hardware
- DirectX 9.0b

↑ This, was the bane of my life, then you had to cycle back to your mates house, copy disk 3 and cycle back all before 6 to be home in time for dinner before your backside would get tanned...:wtf:

Forgot about Starcraft and I'm pretty sure the original Max Payne makes the cut. Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

Mmmmm, might be wrong but the first empire earth is also small, with the expansion it is like 1Gb if I recall.... I still play this today with the parents now and then when we battle against some AI on LAN....

Sorry if I'm a bit dense, but how do you download a game off this site? Do you mean to imply that the files downloaded for online play can be used in another DOS emulator if extracted from the browser's temp files?

As for the others: great suggestions!

Ahh sorry, seems you can't download from there anymore.
