Hi Everyone, I dont know if there is a post about this already, quickly looking i could not find anything.
I am looking at the diagram attached and want to know - what hardware do i need for the server setup. So basically i want to route my router through the server before it goes to the switch which connects all the other users?

You could get and old desktop with 2 Nics and PFSense or something similar.

Quick and easy to setup.

Why, if I may ask.

By far the easiest is to have the modem/router (ie WAN connection) on the same physical network as all the other devices, ie just plugged in to the switch with a normal Ethernet cable.

Also, is your server just a peer on the network, or is it a domain controller for the clients?

The routing is configured. Physically everything just connects to the switch. Router on WAN port. Configure all users to point to the server. Where you configure the users depends on what the server is going to do. Proxy/Gateway/DC etc. If the switch has a dedicated port for server you can connect it there, this port would normally be faster to avoid congestion.
