Small turbo engines.

^ good alternatives there; that A4 in particular looks good. That A1 has the full S-Line kit but missing the very NB pop-up MMI screen & that's makes it look very low rent without it. Downright ugly actually. Like the current Angry-Birds 1-series with no iDrive screen.

Sony system is good. Nothing like the B&O in an Audi but you get what you pay for. 60/40 bias towards highway driving. I usually stick the cruise control on 95km/h and relax:)

My wife got the B&O sound system - holy **** it is overkill. I can't imagine having any hearing left if you use it anywhere near it's potential.

Only one of those cars is in the price bracket.

Yeah I noticed that on the A1, but it's so well priced (and I'm sure open to further negotiation) that it might be an alternative. Saving R40,000 or R50,000 (after negitiation over other A1s because of no MMI? That would make me think twice.

You actually pay the listed price for Autotrader vehicles? I guarantee a good negotiator will have at least the value of the admin and registration fees wiped off the price before signing in the dotted line (speaking from experience, I've never paid any of those BS fees).
