Smart Bulbs (Phillips Hue)

i recently bought these and so far i am very happy with them. i bought 14 and haven't had a problem with a single one. They are very bright on white.

Got most of my Hue bulbs from Amazon UK. Remember, you don’t pay the UK VAT, which could make up for SA taxes and shipping, depending on the size of your order.

I agree that Hue is probably overpriced but it’s the only brand I’ve had experience with so far and I’m very happy with my setup of colour bulbs, white and ambience down lighters and a lightstrip. Got automations and integrations setup in the Hue app, with Apple homekit, Alexa, with Plex and via Homebridge on a raspberry pi. Not sure whether all other brands would be able to integrate as well with my use case.

I'm looking at getting the connex smart wifi strip to stick on the back of my TV. Any good?

Just got these the other day. You can get them from Takealot for a little cheaper. They work great and are really bright. Comes with a 2 prong connector

Govee is better and cheaper.

But if you have a proper TV then colour accuracy should be your main aim and you shouldn’t want any of this kak.

Did some research and the Hue is better but certainly not R8000 better. The Govee T2 costs about R2000, works with anything, and looks 90% as good as the Hue. Thanks for the rec

Can confirm, using about 8 of them at home -never used 'fancier' bulbs but the wifi in these things suck, make sure they have direct line of sight to an access point. But i'm sure they all have this level of wifi.
I'm very happy with them otherwise, works perfectly with google home, quite bright with white light, as expected, colours are a bit dimmer, but still nice to turn the front of your house into a disco when all your neighbours are being load-shed. :D
