Smart Case

So no one has any idea how long it can take? Is it worth getting the smart cover instead and then getting something to protect the back?
 
I got a smart cover with a back protector. Works pretty much exactly like this new smart case. There are also a few competing products that do very similar things, often at half the price: eg The choixx wake up folio.
 
Anybody know where I can get a smart cover for the iPad 3? Apparently the iPad 2 ones don't have the lock screen magnet in the same place.
 
I believe they are the same, compatible with both. But I stand corrected.
 
Are smart cases that big a deal? I understand that it's nice that it wakes up as soon as you open it and, and screen goes off when you close it, but half the time I just let mine go into standby by iteslf, and the press of a button isn't that big a deal. Well for me it doesn't validate the price difference between it and other available covers.

Just curious on other people's feelings?
 
Was at Incredible Corruption over the weekend, "tried on" a few cases but they were all butt-ugly. There was one that was okay looking but the folding stand thing was clumsy and not very sturdy. I don't really want to get one online unless I have actually seen that it fits properly and is built well. Where else can I get iPad covers besides IC and iStores (not online)?

You could try Look & Listen.Only ever been to the one in Cavendish so cant comment on the others though.

A case, no. A cover, yes. Whether you care about scratches on the back is entirely up to you. But the front ... That thin piece of glass you are carrying around is worth four to eight thousand Rand. Sort of makes sense to protect it.

I could live wihout the auto on/off function. It's the way it magnetically clicks into place that sold me on the smart cover.

Sorry, I was talking specifically about the smart cover's auto on/off functionality. thanks
 
Incidentally if a case works with an iPad 2, it'll work with the new iPad.
