Yeah, thats not a bad idea, i would still prefer a little more protection though... If no one else can recommend something better, that will be my only option :)

My preferred combo is a bag/sleeve and a gelaskin for the back. I've never had a problem with the front glass... I don't think that it can be scratched.

I bought a cover from Brightwater commons for R150. It's like a folder that you slot the device into, and the front cover bends and allows it to turn into a stand. It has a magnet in it, that puts the device into standby when you close the cover. Also have a screen protector on the front. They had pink, black and brown covers. They also were selling a cover that comes with a bluetooth keyboard.

The cover I bought looks similar to this

I just stick my iPad 2 in a sleeve, along with the standard Smart Cover. The sleeve I have is an iPad 1 sleeve, but the iPad 2 fits in quite snugly even with the Smart Cover on, and it has a pouch so I can put my stylus, charge cable and other odds and sods in there as well. I prefer the sleek feel of the iPad without the bulky covers and such. The iPad 1 cover was great, as it was tight fitting without adding much bulk at all.

I have ordered a protector for the back, but I suspect it's gone missing in the post, it's been almost two months now, and still nothing's arrived here. Will probably order another one, because I don't like having the back unprotected, but in the sleeve currently it's fine at least.

I have a smart cover and a XtremeMac cover, perfect combo. iPad even fits into the cover with the smart cover on.

Does it have gorilla glass?
It's got really hard and scratch resistant glass, I reckon it probably is.

I would love a cover like the InCase Book cover, but with the magnetic auto-wake for the iPad 2. BrokenRSA's idea sounds the best actually.

Got a griffin one but I'll swap it for a smart cover and sleeve as well. Smart cover rocks.

It can stand like in the picture or be in the slightly raised position - for R150 as opposed to R500, I'll make do for now :)

hi guys, we make peel and stick rear protectors for the iPad 2 - so you can use your smart covers while still protecting the back. We have leather and synthetic! Free postage anywhere in SA counter to counter. Also making iPad 2 bokcases that look like diaries and have a bamboo tray inside. Will be ready next week. See our website www.slicedcheese.co.za. Which shop at Brightwater commons did you buy the cover?

From one of the flea market stalls. If you coming from pnp side it's on the right, at the end of one of the aisles. They sell accessories for all types of devices.
