Hi guys..... haven't posted in a while.

I need some help. I am going to Winternest in Arcacia (Pretoria) tomorrow. Do they do the new Smart ID's? The cost R140?

First-time ID applicants will receive the cards at no cost, while those with green barcoded IDs will pay a fee of R140.

Currently, those interested in getting their Smart IDs can apply for their cards at 70 Home Affairs offices nationwide. They are listed on the website. All you need to take along with you is your old ID book and the money.

Do you need to be invited? I had an old bar coded book, but it got stolen when I was hijacked late last year. So I want to get the new one and then you don't need to apply again.......
