Hi All,
I am the proud owner of a new Smart Tv.( LG). I would like to get Netflix.
a) Is Netflix RSA still pathetic?
b) How can I get Netflix USA on my TV.
I am a bit of a tech idiot so please keep it simple for me

A. Depends on what you call pathetic but I think it is fine. I think it is worth having.
Also remember that your LG Smart TV can also get apps for Amazon Prime Video and Google Play TV and Movies. Amazon Prime Video is a streaming service that costs $2.99 US per month for the first 6 months, after that it is $5.99 per month. Google Play TV and Movies allows you to rent new movies (it has a very wide selection of movies).
B. This would be difficult. You need to use a proxy service to hide the fact that you are in South Africa.
In order for you to hide that your TV is in South Africa, your TV would need to connect to the Internet via the proxy service that fools Netflix into thinking you are in the USA. You have two options for this. One option is to use Internet connection sharing on a PC. Basically your PC connects to the Internet via the proxy service, and shares that connection with your TV. Your other option is to see if you can do a similar thing with an expensive Internet router. I am not sure whether that is possible.

Also remember that Netflix looks out for this kind of thing, and sometimes it will just stop working. Then you need to sign up with and configure a new proxy service.

If you are a tech idiot as you say, I would not bother trying to get Netflix USA.

Check if you can install Kodi on your smart TV (going to depend on the model).

Then google how to install exodus/specto/salts/Elysium (pick one) on kodi.

Don't worry about about Netflix anymore.

I don't think this meets OP's brief nor would I recommend it.
