Dear all,

Smart Village seems to be on an aggressive expansion drive and I'm as such tempted to give their 20Mb offering a try via FTTH in our estate (Midstream). I did however have a quick glance at hellopeter and their performance don't seem overwhelmingly positive based on the amount of complaints - anyone with firsthand Smart Village experience that can tell me yay or nay?

Their customer service is not bad, but they need a lot of following up to get sorted. So far, the connection has been pretty bad. It was working fine the first day, but this morning and last night it would not load any pages apart from their home page. I can't say yay or nay as I am still giving it a month of use (which is only fair)

The only negative is that they are very expensive.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I have had around +-25 days of downtime in the past year with "smartvillage" and each time I had to phone them to tell that their was a problem , and most times the Internet goes down on a friday evening then only attended to on the monday morning.( like it is now which is currently down again ) - I dont think I have ever been notified of potential downtime.

Dont even bother phoning the help desk they cant do anything other than log a call , also you cant get hold of any technical staff. Also impossible to get the real reason behind the faults.

Our dumb-ass body corporate signed a contract with them for 5 years which prevented telkom and other company's from laying any cables into the complex , so im stuck with them until I move out T_T

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
