I recently moved into a flat complex that uses Smart Village as their ISP.

I am on a 4mb line and the speed is decent, I just cant seem to run Origin (EAs online store/game authentication) It says it cant connect. Steam is also a bit on the wierd side I can access Steam News/Community pages at all.

Does any one who uses Smart Village have the same issues? What could i try do it resolve them?

I know some of those ISPs shape the crap out of p2p ports (ie any non priority ports). Friend of mine had the same problem at his complex.

I have set up port forwarding on my DSL router...

But when i do a trace route, I can see it goes through two local routers (which i assume are in the complex) So they might not be port forwarding...

So how do i convince them to change it, because if they dont I'm sunk : /

My friend asked them the same thing... they said they block the other ports because people torrent on those ports and congest the adsl line.

Well Torrents seem to work just fine : / eish
