Dunno where you got these prices from, but that's not smart village fibre prices

I deal with them a lot, and I agree.

See my previous post with the latest pricing that was just pulled off the website.

Chances are a help desk agent gave him a very old price list. I've had that happen before.

@Stillie . My complex has MTN fibre. On MTN , there are 2 options:

1. Month to month with MTN , with R1000 install charge. It's capped so you have to buy data separate

2. 12 month contract with SmartVillage

Open Access is a BS story until it happens. It has taken more than 2 years already

BS . Point me to an ISP that has finalised the negotiations with them.

They've been promising to be the lord's of open access since 2015. They only opened up for negotiations 2 months ago.

Whoaa sorry boss, really sorry, I fscked up here.

I quoted two articles of mtn going open access and the mtn spokesperson mentioning this will also include SV.
"The Smart Village fibre footprint will also be made available on the same open access terms and conditions, once the access network upgrade and the integration into MTN's core network has been completed."

MTN has gone open access (can order via cisp & firestream accordng to their websites) and I wrongly assumed that the OP is in luck here and SV will be catered for as well.

https://www.firestream.co.za/pricing-ftth-mtn.html

Both claim they are taking orders on mtn here on the forum in b&w. I'm assuming that if you are taking orders then negotiations should have been concluded.

FireStream - now taking orders on MTN FTTx network
See pricing at https://www.firestream.co.za/pricing-ftth-mtn.html

So MTN confirmed they will take orders from 1 November, which is quite surprising.

So if me repeating what the company reps said makes me liar/bullschitter then so be it, sorry not much I can do about that.

.

I wasn't having a go at you, but MTN rather. I still believe it's BS

My point is, based on their history...until the first installations go forward...don't believe anything MTN says

MTN offering open access only includes their builds currently and not the Smart Village side of things unfortunately.

For those that are interested,

The pricing for Jackal Creek is now more reasonable.

Keeping in mind all the fibre is symmetrical i.e. 10 up and 10 down
