Folks

Anyone using a smart IR blaster that they can recommend..?

I need one where I can set a schedule to turn my Hisense TV on and off.. It does not have HDMI-CEC, so the RPI I have connected to it, running a calendar board software, cannot use HDMI-CEC to switch the TV on and off as it is designed to do..

I use this one for my AC, and it appears to be compatible with a lot of devices.

It uses Tuya (unfortunately), so you should be able to create scenes, or buttons.

It does not appear to track the status of the appliance if running on more than 1 phone though.

For example, if my SO turns on the AC, I cannot see whether it's on or off. I could probably tinker a bit, but I haven't yet.

You know what is up with the HDMI port at the bottom..?

We have been testing the Linknlink Devices, they present the Learned IR codes to Home assistant via Mqtt... its very slick, and the Mqtt connection to HA is local (it does require the app to setup the Mqtt config and learn new devices though). We aren't stocking them (yet) but they deffinatley earn our nod of approval for their approach to local control.

If you feel like a tinker, you can DIY out of an ESP32 and an IR receiver / transmitter. You can have it run standalone or with the help of Home Assistant

ESP ALL THE THINGS !!
