@azizarnold
Actually I have done just that; replaced my 10Mbps ADSL line with LTE. I'm not currently located in the "official" LTE coverage but I'm very happy with the change made. I have had the 100 GB + 100GB SmartBroadband Wireless Sim-only deal for about two months now and have cancelled my ADSL + fixed line last week.
I live in the Vaal Triangle and don't seem to get the speeds that are available in Johannesburg or the other major areas, but a constant download of 35 Mbps and upload of 7 Mbps is faster than I had on ADSL. I never really had a reason to cancel my ADSL since it has always been well behaved. For the same moneys I spent on ADSL I can now have a speed upgrade of 3.5 times download and 7 times the upload. The only thing I am sacrificing on is latency; up from 20ms (local) on ADSL to about 35ms (local) on LTE. Not really into gaming, so latency is not such a huge issue for me.
The increase in upload speed was the main reason for getting LTE. Makes a huge difference on Dropbox uploads.
I use a Huawei B593 connected to an external Poynting antenna (XPOL-006) that makes all the difference. Currently on a RSSI of -66 dBm at 3.3km NLOS from the base station.
Unless the loading on the LTE system become such that speeds drop, I will keep my LTE setup.
Hope this helps you to make a decision. Best option is to first test before cancelling the hard line.
