hey, just got my 6680 from smartcom and it appears to be a vodafone live fone. It's not branded with a physical badge, but the themes are installed with the vodafone logo at the bottom.
Although i can't access 3g at the moment coz 3g wasn't activated so i'll wait for tomoz (its 7pm now, too late)

the one problem i had with smartcom was the loads of paperwork, but once that went through, the phone came thru quickly...

Oh a question: my phoine came with a 32k simcard, thought u needed a 64k simcard for 3g on vodacom?

64K sim card doesn't make all that much difference, if ANY AT ALL. Heh, but if you want, you can force them to send it to you for free.

The theory states that for 3G you need a USIM, and they are 64K SIMs.

However, as you noticed the phones work fine on the 'old' SIMs. I'm still using my 32K '2G' SIM in my 3G phone.

On the datacards, however, we found that a 64K SIM helps with the bearer selection process. Thus the drive to upgrade them all to 64K.
