So I would love a Pebble...

But it's just too expensive. I don't have the cash to splurge on it right now.
Do any of you know of an alternative Smartwatch, preferably Android, with the same cool factor, that is more affordable and available in S.A.?

I would also like one but its probably worth waiting for these to mature some more. Currently the Moto 360 looks like the one to get. But it will probably be too expensive in SA

Speculation is that it will go for $250 in the US.

Smartwatch tech is very new so the devices aren't that cheap. Pebble is actually one of the cheapest right now. A Gear 2 is over R4k and I can tell you from experience it isn't even that great. Here is a new LG G Watch for R2500:

I have one (and I am the guy selling it on carb... A second one my wife doesn't want) and battery lasts two days with moderate use and step counter on. Haven't seen any negative effect to phone battery life either (on HTC one)

LG quotes 36 hours.

Quite convinient actually. I have the charging dock next to my bed, and just pop the watch in every night when I go to sleep...

Pebble is probably the cheapest one out there and it works with ios and Android. Battery lasts around 7 days. You can pick up one for around R1000 on Gumtree.
