Smash and grab window tinting

I have heard it can be bad if you have an accident and are trapped in the car? Any1 have experience with this? I was planning on having it done next week - but now am having doubts. It's a decision based on 2 totally different "what ifs"

aaag , there's an easy solution for that ...... DONT CRASH! :D

haha - sometimes the male drivers get in the way of a female driver and you have a whole new debate... (and an accident caused by a male driver)

I don't really see what the problem is regarding that issue...

We all lock our selfs up un our houses with burglar bars and all, if the house starts to burn it could be tricky to get out because all exits have burglar bars. This is just an example.

I have the tinting on my car and i think its a good idea, if i find myself in a situation were i must get out through the window and it proves difficult because of the tint then it is the way it is.

Very good point - if you really have to think about it the circumstances we are forced to live in is scary! anyhow I'L prob just get it done anyway. Are their dif kinds that stop harder heavier things or is it all pretty standard?

Where would you get one here? - excuse the ignorance please! I know in the U.K it's like a standard fitting/fixture that comes with the property.

When i did mine they told me that they usually tint a small window or a pair of small windows with normal tint for the exact reason if you have to get in to the car or out. It is easier to break than the other windows.

Like on a bakkie they will tint those small rear windows with normal and not with smash & grab to make it easier to break.

I think they also tint the rear window on a car with normal tint.

I did mine at PG Glass for about R1500.00

The smash and grab windows are not that strong... all they do is stop the window from shattering when its hit. It still breaks, its not armor plating.

It will just protect you from one hit.

well it's only effective if your window is closed so if ur trapped in ur car and can't get the window fully down do crawl out, get it open just a little bit... should break then
