Hey guys.
I do not know if this is the correct sub forum for this question, so please let me know if it is not.
My company has 15 employees with about 30 wifi connections (Lets assume everyone has there phone connected as well) running through 2 routers. One to handle the phone line and then one router to split the connection to 2 connectins. (With only one router, we hit a connection cap at around 15 connections, so we bridged it over to split the signal so everyone can connect.) We have a 8mb uncapped line and the line stats are looking great.
When there are a few people in the office, everything works great. line sits at the full 8mb and ping is between 5 and 10ms. when everyone connects though, everything goes to ****. The ping then jumps up to between 500 and a 1000ms and speed drops to 0.1mb/s
So my question, do you think this is router related? That our crappy routers cannot handle all that throughput? I cant imagine it being the line, even with all the connections, we do not do bandwith intensive tasks. Mostly browsing, so no heavy bandwith usage to hog all the bandwith.
I came here first for some answers because I do not want to go out and spend a ****load of money on a new router when something else might be the problem.
